Simon Barlett brings more than 25 years of experience in advanced manufacturing to the Additive Manufacturing CRC (AMCRC) to support the framing of Australia’s current industry capability.
Working with AMCRC Program Leaders, he will support five priority projects that collectively underpin the CRC’s long‑term strategic direction, including the development of white papers on the current and future state of the broader Australian AM ecosystem.
Simon will draw on his deep industry experience - from scaling a startup into one of Australia’s largest additive manufacturing service bureaus and leading international teams at HP - and support university researchers across engineering, leadership, and global business development, spanning AMCRC’s key industry sectors. Simon will support a whole of industry analysis and help translate technical capability into clear commercial and strategic insight for the sector.
Focusing on capability building, Simon will work closely with industry and research partners to clearly articulate how technology, services, and know‑how contribute to the future of advanced manufacturing in Australia and globally.
