Unlocking new industrial applications through advanced materials and design for additive manufacturing.

Research Program 2 focuses on developing new applications, materials and design approaches that unlock the full potential of additive manufacturing in sectors such as defence, transport, healthcare and construction.

The program advances Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and explores new materials across metals, polymers, composites and ceramics. It also investigates sustainable feedstock solutions, including local material production and upcycling strategies to support resilient supply chains.

By combining advanced design techniques with tailored materials, the program helps industry partners develop next-generation components and products that cannot be manufactured using traditional processes.
