Enhancing sovereign manufacturing of titanium powder feedstock

Coogee Titanium is advancing the commercialisation of TiRO® — an innovative, Australian-made titanium powder with the potential to transform advanced manufacturing. Produced at scale in Australia, TiRO® offers a more efficient and sustainable alternative to conventional titanium feedstocks.

In partnership with The University of Queensland, Coogee Titanium will evaluate TiRO® powder performance against industry-standard materials across key processes, including Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIPing).

It will also investigate how trace impurities, such as magnesium and chlorine, affect final part quality.

The project will generate critical data to support market entry and accelerate the commercialisation of Australia’s sovereign titanium powder technology, originally developed by CSIRO, enabling more sustainable, locally produced solutions for global manufacturing.
